Splendour in the grass

I watched a movie for Natily Wood and Robert Wagner named "Splender in the grass". I really liked the movie and also I really admired the part of William Wordsworth's poem from which the movie name was taken. So here I am just putting that part of the poem.

From Wordsworth's "Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood" (starting at line 182):

Though nothing can bring back the hour

Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;

We will grieve not, rather find

Strength in what remains behind

Chekov said:

"Wine and tobacco deprive you of your individuality. After a cigar or a glass of Vodka you are no longer just yourself, but yourself plus somebody else"

Genius is Simplicity

I got these words via email but really they are good.

Difference between Focusing on Problems and Focusing on Solutions
Case 1

When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn't work at zero gravity (ink won't flow down to the writing surface). To solve this problem, it took them one decade and $12 million. They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C.

And what did the Russians do...?? They used a pencil.
Case 2

One of the most memorable case studies on Japanese management was the case of the empty soapbox, which happened in one of
Japan's biggest cosmetics companies. The company received a complaint that a consumer had bought a soapbox that was empty. Immediately the authorities isolated the problem to the assembly! line, which transported all the packaged boxes of soap to the delivery department. For some reason, one soapbox went through the assembly line empty. Management asked its engineers to solve the problem. Post-haste, the engineers worked hard to devise an X-ray machine with high-resolution monitors manned by two people to watch all the soapboxes that passed through the line to make sure they were not empty. No doubt, they worked hard and they worked fast but they spent a whoopee amount to do so.

But when a rank-and-file employee in a small company was posed with the same problem, he did not get into complications of X-rays, etc., but instead came out with another solution. He bought a strong industrial electric fan and pointed it at the assembly line. He switched the fan on, and as each soapbox passed the fan, it simply blew the empty boxes out of the line.

Moral :
Always look for simple solutions.

Devise the simplest possible solution that solves the problems
Always Focus on solutions & not on problems
So the end of the day the thing that really matters is HOW ONE LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM, mere perceptions can solve the tough probs....

Life taught me

Friends are like stars, they come and go but the ones that stay are the ones that glow.
Don't marry someone you can live with, marry someone you can NOT live without.
The darkest part of a night is that preceding the Dawn.
The best place to grasp a stick is its midpoint.
Noone will help you better than yourself.
To love is nothing, to be loved is something, but to love and be loved is everything.
Prove you are the one you believe you are.
Always remember you choose your destiny, and you must face your fate.
Men make money, but money can NOT make Men.
Birds with the same feather flock together.
The world is NOT revolving around YOU.
Your heart will never stop till you die, and you should make your mind do the same.

Criticism

This is a summary of a chat with one of my previous teachers

She told me her opinion frankly

You can do it only you need to focus

You need to calm down a bit

You are a bit too hyper

I was your teacher

It was my job to notice the least abilities in you

I realized that you are extremely smart

But because you rush things you make silly mistakes

Take ur time buddy

No one is running after you

Time - Don't waste your life

Do you make the most of your time? If you feel scattered or hurried a lot of the time, you could benefit from brushing up on your time management skills. It could help you become more focused and more productive.

You can start off by getting things in order. Clean up around the house and the office and get things organized. When you can find things easily, you'll save time that would have been spent searching around and trying to remember where you put something.

Once you get organized, think about your priorities. Try to get an idea of what they are. Think about your goals for not only the day ahead but also for the long-term. Putting these goals down on paper can help you put them into action and make them a reality. Creating a to-do list each day can help you step closer to your larger, long-term goals. See if you can turn to-do lists into a regular part of your day, and start making the most of your time!
